A little history
- 1264The tower of Barxell. A document of 1264 already records the castle, a medieval building of the 13th century. - 1467A castle of the town. In 1467, according to one guide to fortifications, the jurats (town magistrates) of Alcoy bought the settlement of Barxell. Another guide places the castle’s acquisition in the mid-15th century.Fortificaciones de España (castillosricsol.es); CastillosNet.
- 1850From castle to farmhouse. Around 1850, according to the Viquipèdia, the castle became a farmhouse, with several alterations (other guides place this in the 18th century).
